"Now, he hasn’t arrived yet. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves."

I think that is the key quote. This isn't even training camp yet. Trying to crown even a leader in this horse race is a bit premature. The question really comes down to which one of the three will "arrive" first. Just because Garcon is making the most progress compared to last year doesn't mean he will "arrive" first. He also started out considerably farther back than did Hall or even Collie now.

If the three were put on a continum of NFL "readiness" coming out of college I'd have to put Collie first, Hall a good distance behind him, and Garcon a considerable distance behind Hall. While Garcon was productive he played much, much weaker competition. While Hall played some of the toughest competition he didn't do much in college. But Collie was both uber-productive and played some top-flight competition.

Given where they were coming out of college with how much time they've had to get ready for the NFL I'd say they are all probably neck-and-neck right now. So, who is moving faster and who will "arrive" first? That is the question.

Either way, I think there is a good chance that all three of these guys will end up on the roster.

I also found the comment about how Collie "has a good feel for spacial awareness." That kind of thing is a common problem for rookie WRs and is even something that Gonzo has struggled with from time to time, like catching the pass just short of the first down. I don't know if that is what Caldwell meant or if was more of an ability to stay inbounds when catching comment. Either way I found it intruiging.
