Indy Football Report Editor John Oehser answers the questions of Indianapolis Colts fans (and anyone else who emails him at IFROehser@aol.com) . . .

Hey, Oehser . . .

I have not read anything about about (LB) Clint Session.  I saw more of Jordan Senn on Sunday night and not Session.  I know he was nursing an injury earlier in the week, but I have not read anything about him from the game.  Did he get hurt? Or was it more that Senn is a better pass defender than Session?  I am just curious.  Thanks for any info you may have.

Kurt

Oehser: My impression was just that — that with Session limited with an ankle injury and (MLB Gary) Brackett out, the Colts opted to have Senn play in the nickel. I expect that you’ll see a lot more of the Colts’ base linebacker package of Session, Freddy Keiaho (backing up Brackett) and Tyjuan Hagler against Seattle Sunday.

Hey Oehser,

Rewatching last week’s game against Arizona, I saw a lot of Jordan Senn in the game. Particularly in nickel package when Marlin Jackson’s in. What happened to Session and Hagler? I haven’t heard anything about injury, is Senn better in coverage?

Thanks,

Steve Earp (San Bernardino, CA)

Oehser: A lot of questions this week about Session’s role. Wish I’d asked Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell about it this week, but I’m relatively sure it was his injury combined with the nickel package of Arizona last week.

Hey, Oehser . . .

Tom Santi, Steve Justice and Terrance Taylor were all recent draft picks cut by the Colts who still have practice squad eligibility (from what I understand). All have cleared waivers and remain unsigned, while less touted players like Colin Cloherty and John Gill share the same positions on the Colts’ practice squad. Do you have insight as to why these former draft picks were not signed to the Colts’ practice squad?

 Thanks,

Jason

Oehser: Santi was re-signed to the practice squad this week and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him back on the active roster. As for Justice and Taylor, the reality sometimes is that even draft selections turn out not to be players around which a team wants to build.
