Joshua Cribbs won’t be joining the Indianapolis Colts — or any other team — any time soon, according to Cleveland Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini.
Cribbs, one of the NFL’s top kickoff/punt returners, is in a contract dispute with the Cleveland Browns, the Associated Press writes. Several news outlets reported Thursday that the Colts were one of several teams interested in Cribbs, but Mangini says the Browns aren’t interested in making a move.
Cribbs’ contract runs through 2012.
“I’m gonna be stuck,” Cribbs tells the AP. “I don’t know what I’m going to do right now. It will tremendously disappoint me if nothing gets done. That’s no secret. I’m going to be very disappointed.”
Says Mangini, “No interest in moving Josh Cribbs.”
“Josh is going to be a Cleveland Brown,” Mangini adds. “(The contract) is not something that we’re focusing on. In terms of a timetable, it’s an organizational thing we’ll look at. Josh and I are trying to get ready for the game on Sunday.”
