Indy Football Report Editor John Oehser examines what Indianapolis Colts President Bill Polian had to say on his weekly radio show Monday evening following a 42-6 victory over the St. Louis Rams Sunday . . .
The Indianapolis Colts on Sunday sustained two significant injuries – one to WR Reggie Wayne (groin) and the other two RB Donald Brown (shoulder).
Wayne, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, told Polian on Sunday following a 42-6 victory over St. Louis that “he felt good,” while Polian said the injury to Brown – a first-round selection in this past April’s 2009 NFL Draft – was a “shoulder contusion.”
“He was given some exercises to do,” Polian of Brown said Monday on his weekly radio on 97.1 Hank FM in Indianapolis. “The feeling was it wasn’t terrible. It was clearly a very painful contusion.”
Polian didn’t specify a timetable on either player, but while discussing backup running back Mike Hart later in the show said “if he [Brown] misses a week or two or three, Mike is very likely to be up and dressed and playing a big role.”

Well, that doesn’t sound too bad. I’d rather not be missing those guys, but it’s better to have them towards the end of the season and through the playoffs. So losing them for a game or two, while tough, is tolerable.
I hope it’s only a single game, though. The Texans are the game after the Niners, and they’re no joke this year. They’ve never really been any sort of joke, despite popular myth (recall, they’ve beaten the Colts before, and came close to doing it recently). Indy would be better served by being near full strength to take them on.
And then there’s New England after that. Yeech… for supposedly having a “down” year, New England’s still playing pretty good. Reggie and Donald would be needed that game as well.
Blech… life’s tough in the NFL. You don’t get any asterisk by an “L” just because some players were hurt.
[...] two, Mike Hart(notes) should get clean-up duty. Colts president Bill Polian has said that Hart is "very likely to be up and dressed and playing a big role." … As we’ve mentioned previously, Jets rookie Shonn Greene(notes) isn’t all that [...]
