Indianapolis Colts 18, San Francisco 49ers 14 . . .

The Colts didn’t play their best game of the season, but they were solid defensively except for two drives and they took control of the game in the second half.

The Colts are 7-0 for a fourth time in five seasons. With a huge AFC South game against Houston at Lucas Oil Stadium next week, they’ll take it.

Are the Colts now the best ranked D in the league?

Well… good teams find ways to win ugly. And that’s what happened today: The Colts found a way to win when they weren’t getting their normal things done.

I think this is good as a formative game, plus a good gut check. Everything had been coming too easily for the Colts anyway. This sort of game can serve to remind them that nothing comes easy in the professional leagues.
