“The Colts placed the first-round tender on safety Antoine Bethea, according to a source close to the situation,” Adam Schefter writes, adding, “Should any team sign Bethea to an offer sheet, the Colts will have seven days to match — or get back the other team’s first-round pick. Bethea is a former sixth-round pick who was selected to the Pro Bowl last season. The first-round tender is worth $2.521 million.”

IFR Analysis: This move makes it highly likely that Bethea, a two-time Pro Bowl selection selected  in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft, will return to the Colts. That’s not unexpected, but it’s telling that Bethea received a first-round tender. He has developed into an elite-level safety, and while there’s a perception around Indianapolis that he still perhaps is a but underrated, clearly he’s respected enough in NFL circles to merit a significant commitment by the Colts to keep him.

So The Ravens placed a 1st round tender on Jared Gaither which seems to imply that they are open to losing him for a 1st round pick. I’m wondering if the Colts might go after him. The 31st pick in the draft for a starting left tackle seems to be a good deal. I don’t know much about him other than he’s huge but the Ravens seemed to do a good job against our defensive ends. We had 1 sack in two games and that sack came on a Brackett blitz.
