This from Indy Football Report’s friends at www.coltscap.net on the recent signing of linebacker Adam Seward . . .
According to coltscap.net, Seward — who played for Carolina the past four seasons — signed a one-year deal with the Colts for the veteran minimum of $620,000 and under the NFL’s salary-cap system, it would count $510,000 against the cap for 2009. According to the website, it’s a similar deal to the ones the team used with Aaron Moorehead, Rob Morris and most recently, running back Dominic Rhodes this past year.
It’s considered a good way to bring back veterans, and in the case of Seward, it was a good way for the Colts to add some veteran depth to a spot that is a bit thin entering next month’s NFL Draft.
